Guilty Christmas Confessions
I love Miracle on 34th Street... and I actually prefer the Mara Wilson version, which is blasphemous or something, I’m sure.
Last year we tortured the cat by sticking bells on a red ribbon round his neck. If I could catch him, I’d do it again.
I’m a little bit control-freaky about the tree. I’m doing my best to overcome that.
I tend to prefer the Jesus carols. I mean… I love O Holy Night, and We Three Kings. Also, it’s not Christmas without hearing the Mr. Mackee version of The Carol of the Bells. Ding dong, ding dong, mmmmm’kaaaaay. But, I absolutely loathe the fucking Christmas Poo song. And, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. And, that damned Adam Sandler one, because the original had my name in it.
I’m still not comfortable with this whole Santa thing.
I find gift wrapping to be sort of soothing in it’s geometric-ness. And, the Charlie Brown Christmas special is better than a Valium at chilling me out.
Egg nog. Mmmm.

I like “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby. I’m a dork.

I’ve been lucky and have heard almost NO Christmas music this year. There’s no tv reception where I live, so I haven’t turned it on in a month—and I’ve done all my shopping online, so I haven’t had to deal with the music at the store.
But I know exactly what you mean, Veronica.
As for the Santa thing—fortunately you’ve still got a couple of years before you have to decide. I love how clueless really small children are, lol.

I’m a real sap when it comes to Christmas movies. I actually bought a new copy of It’s a Wonderful Life because the old one wasn’t working.
On Santa – I refuse to let some imaginary dude get credit for all my hard work, so I told my kids that Santa is an idea, the spirit of St. Nicholas that gets into all of us at Christmas – and having people dressed up like him reminds us to act like him. So thank ME for all the presents, dammit.

I love the religious Christmas songs, for the music, not the “message”, which is pretty blasphemous itself. But there it is.

If you speak it’s name, the Ch-ch-chia will APPEAR!

I admit that I love all of the CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS music, passionately!! (all the songs, not just the famous boogie-woogie…)
