Post Partum
The incision became infected, and I had to make an ER visit. It wasn’t any fun. I’m tired of the hospital. Tired of hurting. Tired, in general.
I’ve already lost the baby weight. I’m certainly not the same shape, but I’m actually lighter than when I started. Weird.
Did I mention I’m tired?
‘Cause I am.
I love the baby’s eyebrows. For one, the little hairs are translucent, so they’re not really visible. And, when I tickle certain spots, or scratch his head in a certain way, he puckers his lips and his little invisible eyebrows shoot straight up.
He makes noises when he sleeps. He has dreams, and there appears to be some that recur. He’ll pant and pant and pant, and then sigh and grin, over and over.
He calms down for me. It’s… bizarre. He’ll be fussing, then when I pick him up, he chills right out. You’d think that would be obvious, but it sort of surprised me. I’m someone’s mama.
Weeeeird.
He looks at things. He makes funny noises. He’s just about the coolest thing with two legs.
And, I am TIRED.

I both envy you (aww, tiny little mouse babies! I love them! Plus, they do not cry for you to put on Elmo’s World!) and do not envy you (yes, I remember THE TIREDNESS and cannot imagine having to recover from abdominal surgery on top of that!).
I kind of want to both say enjoy it while you can and don’t worry, it will be over soon, if that makes any sense.

Poor you – yeah, I can’t imagine doing all the baby stuff with abdominal stuff on top of it. My kids had jet black eyebrows, all 3, with tons of hair. It looked kind of freaky, newborns with these crazy eyebrows. Like someone had glued them on.
